Agriculture Commission advances farmer's market and local farms directory.

MONSON — The Monson Agriculture Commission unanimously approved a survey for a Local Farms Directory and advanced planning for a Wednesday farmer's market running June 24 through August 26, hosted by the Senior Center. Chair Bob Skalbite reported the Farmland of Local Importance designation is weeks away from completion and will be presented to the Select Board. Member Denise Koran-Klisiewicz is pursuing potential grants through the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources.
The Commission voted unanimously to approve and publicize the directory survey, which will focus on locally sourced and agriculturally based businesses.
