Board of Assessors · Meeting of April 29, 2026
Monson Board of Assessors approves motor vehicle abatements and property exemptions in routine vote. Chair Christopher W. Haley, Vice Chair Dorothy P.
Jenkins, and Clerk Russell A. Bressette Jr. unanimously approved motor vehicle and trailer abatements of $3,356.24 and six personal exemptions totaling $3,750.00 while denying one exemption application. Principal Assessor Andrew Pehoviak presented preliminary FY27 property valuations showing single-family homes up 4 percent, two-family homes down slightly, and apartment complexes at 90 Palmer Road and 45 Elm Street facing significant increases based on recent sales.
Vice Chair Jenkins reported Palmer gained $250,000 in tax revenue after implementing Nearmap satellite imagery at $10,000 initial cost; the board agreed to a two-week trial but took no purchase vote. Pehoviak confirmed the consulting line for assessor-office support has been eliminated from the FY27 budget.
