MONSON — Cemetery Commission approves April minutes, expresses unanimous concern over possible budget cut. Dr. Richard M.
Smith warned that a departmental cut would constitute "failing everybody that bought a grave," and members discussed tightening operations if next year's budget proves tighter. Superintendent of Cemeteries Matt Wawrzyk reported Hillside and other properties mowed for Memorial Day, Hillcrest seeded, and monuments on schedule for installation. The Commission identified a potential volunteer to assist with maintenance and highlighted successful student engagement through Monson High School's Community Service Day and Pathway Program.
