Monson Electronic Voting System Committee hears clicker-system pitch, defers funding vote. Peter Babel of Meridia walked the five-member panel through his company's voting platform, estimating a 500-clicker setup at $20,530 with $999 annual maintenance; a dedicated computer and projector are required additions not included in that price. Committee Chair John Morrell and members Mary Watson, Peter Matrow, Alice Davey, and Keith Valley voted unanimously to table the funding proposal, reasoning it fell outside the panel's original charge, and scheduled January 26 to draft the committee's formal recommendation.
