Conservation Commission approves demolition Order for 175 State Ave

Conservation Commission · Meeting of April 22, 2026

MONSON — Conservation Commission unanimously approves demolition of 175 State Ave buildings. Chairperson Glenn Colburn and the seven-member commission voted unanimously to issue an Order of Conditions allowing Westmass Area Development Corporation to proceed with abatement and demolition of multiple structures, foundations, and utilities within the Riverfront Area buffer zones to Sawmill Brook and adjacent Bordering Vegetative Wetlands. Demolition debris will be removed from site with hazardous materials managed by licensed contractors and disturbed areas backfilled and stabilized.

The commission also unanimously continued two Notices of Intent: the Silver Street project to May 13 citing insufficient plan detail, and the Wood Hill Road project to May 13 after requiring the applicant to fund peer review of wetland delineation.
