Conservation Commission approves tree-removal conditions, extends wetlands permit.

MONSON — Conservation Commission approves conditions on 14 hazardous trees at 221 Munn Road. Chairperson Glenn Colburn and Conservation Agent Toni Uliana conducted a pre-meeting site visit and reported that selective topping--rather than full removal--of individual trunks would preserve wildlife habitat while mitigating hazards to the house. Member Marty Gilmore moved to issue a Negative #2 determination; the vote was unanimous, 7-0.
In a separate matter, the Commission voted unanimously to extend the Order of Conditions at 44 Munn Road by one year, with Colburn recommending a shorter term than the maximum allowed three years due to elapsed time and possible regulatory changes. Both the current owner and a prospective buyer were present.
