Curriculum Subcommittee advances health standards and ELA selection process.

School Committee · Meeting of January 13, 2026

Monson School Committee Curriculum Subcommittee advanced work on health standards and English Language Arts selection. Chair Alison Morgan and the subcommittee reviewed sample seventh and eighth grade health lessons and plan to present standards to the full committee next meeting. The group is narrowing ELA options from 10 product samples to two or three finalists by end of May, with teacher and student feedback through pilot lessons.

The subcommittee will also discontinue its IXL formative assessment contract and replace it with MAP testing, which serves through high school at the same cost.
