Monson School Committee Curriculum Subcommittee endorses four curriculum adoptions for full committee consideration. Chair Alison Morgan and members Jamie Murphy and Superintendent Paul Foster reviewed Core Knowledge Language Arts for K-5 (three-year cost $124,757), Into Literature for grades 6-8 ($52,820), Character Strong social-emotional curriculum ($7,500 for year one), and Project Lead the Way Launch for K-5 science. The subcommittee also recommended the district apply for Southern Worcester County Educational Collaborative membership to save approximately $80,400 annually on special education collaborative placements, compared to current per-diem rates for non-members.
