MONSON — Parks & Recreation Commission unanimously votes to raise pool spending limit to $150,000. The approval came during discussion of multiple budget-reduction scenarios, with Director Tim Pascale presenting cuts ranging from one percent to 15 percent. The department's revolving funds total $68,000, supporting 970 participants in regular programs and 774 in pool programs.
Pascale warned that proposed cuts could reduce his pension from 80 percent to 59 percent, and flagged that Groundskeeper Steve Gordon has been offered a position with the Highway Department. A parent-led petition to save Parks and Recreation has gathered 689 signatures.
