Planning Board continues two major hearings; approves prior minutes
Planning Board · Meeting of January 20, 2026
MONSON — Planning Board continues two major hearings to February 17. The Board heard applicant Glenn Lederman's petition to reapprove a special permit for an estate lot on Paradise Lake Road, originally issued under prior owner Clark Zelazo in March 2025 but never recorded; the plan submitted did not match the original and lacked confirmation of Fire Department turnaround requirements, and the Board directed submission of a full-size mylar and multiple copies before resubmission. Westmass Area Development Corporation presented a proposal for a new Planned Village District zoning district covering approximately 108 acres of the former Monson Developmental Center, with a $5 million MassWorks grant allocated for bridge and utility upgrades; the Board raised concerns about zoning framework conflicts, lack of public safety and infrastructure studies, and compatibility with Monson's existing bylaws, and voted 5-0 to continue the hearing.
The Board also approved prior minutes from three meetings.
