Monson Select Board unanimously appoints Adam Szymanski to police lieutenant and authorizes $485,000 federal grant. The Community Development Block Grant will fund engineering design of Harrison Avenue infrastructure improvements and operational support for the Monson Community Cupboard food pantry, with the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission handling administration. The board also held the annual town meeting date at Monday, May 11, 2026, at 7 p.m. after a community survey found only 105 of 227 respondents preferred moving to Saturday mornings compared to 99 seeking the change.
Vice Chair Patricia A. Oney voted to reject a financial interest disclosure filed by Planning Board Chair Craig Sweitzer over a potential cell tower permit conflict, requiring his recusal from related votes.
